I attempted to post this comment 30 times without luck. Sometimes it said: “Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!” Other times “You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down” or it just refreshed this page with no change.

Anyway…

You’re all welcome. Actually, please let this post serve as my “you’re welcome” to all expressions of gratitude directed my way for previous and future uploads of the Economist. I know, it is pretty awesome…I’ve been a regular reader/listener for a few decades. I don’t know how much longer I may post it. So if you like it and one day discover that I’ve discontinued my weekly posts then just buy a subscription and post it.

For those unfamiliar with the Economist…The writing is fairly consistently excellect though you just have to get used to a few Britishisms such as nought (zero), whinging (whining), throw a spanner (wrench) in the works (gears), kit (equipment), damp squib (something underwhelming), punter (gambler or someone taking a position on a bet), cock up (epic fail), dodgy (shady), knackered (tired), bangers (sausage), jiggery-pokery (fraud), to make a hash of (fuck up), nappies (diapers), scuppered (scuttled), to be at/on the hustings (campaigning), bunting (banners), queue (line-up), spotty (patchy), shambolic (disorganized or confused), suss out (to reason through), trainers (sneekers), wonky (unsteady), etc. I won’t even mention the basic Britishisms such as mate, rubbish, daft, knickers, bloody, adverts, arse, lift, lorrie, maths, and telly that aren’t usually used by Americans. Of course, my ear for these imports has probably dulled after many years of hearing them.

Also, it took me 13 attempts at hitting the “Share it” button on the “Share my audiobook” for the thing to finally post.
