5 stars for the adder, 0 star to the Economist for their uncharacteristically irresponsible conduct such as this incredibly misleading Title and tone on their official Youtube Channel. A news-weekly of a mostly-consistent stellar reputation and regard, has been undermining it’s self as of late, departing from the objective to emotionally subjective especially with this topic; Reporting what they are reporting and misleading and counter-factual titles like this one, KNOWING, we KNOW for the last 20 years all the true & specific details that have either been declassified, exposed and reported with time and so forth. Well not all of us have made our prerogative to know it as well as we should, and that’s fine but it ain’t when you are going to opine on it half informed, or worse, are fully informed and opine counterfactually.

@MattyNk he cant mishandle what he had no ‘handle’ on. And he had no handle on it’s leaders cutting and running, When instead they should’ve gradually withdrew any people with apprehensions of the country’s stability after the May 1st US troop withdrawal deadline, and would want to emigrate. Which has been known since 2019. Its August 2021, our Administration was left in a state of ‘re-action’ as response instead of action. No one counted on first class flight of their president, and cowardice of well armed US $trillion dollar trained soldiers. And i dont get with our media and certain ppl : one moment is ‘bring our boys back we dont belong there’, the next is ‘why aren’t we there saving helping those people, its on our conscience what happens after’ no middle course, just extremes to either direction. No amount of “planning or withdrawal handling” could have improved this situation. The army that we spent 20yrs arming and training just gave up and surrendered without a fight.
