  I think there is another player to consider here. Democracy is pretty much gone in that corporations just about drive it now. It isn’t just corporations like Exxon/Mobil or General Motors & their like coming together to dominate the country & the world (they already practically do, but their day is about to fade). I think the world will be driven by a small cartel of companies that are most successful in creating AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) merged with Quantum Computing. Generative AI is just in its infancy right now. It still has limitations, relying on LLMs & Transformers, still lacking the general ability to be a competitor for the creativity, consciousness & intuitive thinking of humans. It is still dependent on humans to provide the vast sets of data & then create & run the training sets & accuracy tuning algorithms. Specific systems can be created now to replace almost all work that humans now do, but each AI solution will be narrow. The real revolution will begin in the next 1 to 5 years as companies develop production-sized Quantum Computers, millions to trillions times as fast as today’s digital computers. We already have experimental QCs that can solve problems in seconds that would take the fastest parallelized digital computer systems years to solve. But, that’s with only 40 or 50 qubits. We are on the verge of building Quantum Computers with 100,000 qubits, capable of solving problems in seconds that would take a digital computer tens of thousands of years to solve. AI right now requires staggering amounts of computing power (which is why it is virtually all cloud-based) & staggering amounts of energy to drive. Mated to Quantum Computers, AI will suddenly, almost instantaneously take a leap of millions or billions of times the current size. AGI and even ASI (Artificial Superior Intelligence) will appear before the next decade is over. Companies like Microsoft/OpenAI, Alphabet/Google, IBM, latecomer Apple & others that are just startups now will dominate our world by 2030. They will be providing virtually all of the super intelligence to geometrically increase our ability to produce skyrocketing GDP. It only can succeed if we abandon 18th century Capitalism, which depends on human’s work contribution to productivity to determine how big a slice of the GDP pie gets distributed to them & replace it with 21st/22nd century economic systems which can sustain work-free leisure societies while AI does our work for us - and does it infinitely better. If we don’t make the change & try to stick to antiquated economic systems, we won’t have to worry about 2050, humans will be dying out from our own inability to prepare in advance for the inevitable.
